Sometimes on newer reversions they cover up the holes.
Dont understand why, but the holes areoriganaly ment for mesuring if the card works good!

Try turning it around and look at the other side, if you dont get an answer here in 24 hours I think you should try on XS.org

No, I COULDN"T measure the voltage, that's why I'm just going by the temp. From what I can find I'm on the upper limit of it, so I think I'll redo the pencil mod and leave the resistence higher. (maybe 555-560 ohms, it's at 545 ohms right not). Here's a pics of my PCB, as you can see, I can't measure the voltage. My card is a Biostar 7600GT 256mb GDDR3.

Okay, if you have mesured with your Vdimm and are happy then it is fine

What brand do you have ?

I would say pictures are needed 2 or at least a linkt to what model you have

Already installed a VF700 AlCu and have a voltmeter. But my problem is my card doesn't have that voltage measuring dot that's shown on the reference card. So I have no way of physically measuring it. Even tho CPU-Z is not 100% correct, it's correct enough for me.

That indicates very bad cooling m8
Droop a 120 mm fan on it, and spend 10 $on a multimeter or Voltmeter

And CPU-Z dosent read Vcore very good

Kinda a releated question, I did the vGPU mod on my 7600GT, but my card doesn't have the vGPU measure point shown in the guide. Is there any program that can detect the vGPU voltage? (Like CPU-Z) I just want to make sure I'm still in the safe range. The temp looks ok, it idles at 47c and max load at 70c. Thanks.

What Card are we talking about?

Why shouldent you be able to go beound the chips specifications ?

On the RT9232 IC chip I have a limit of 1.50 Volts and the specs for the chip confuse me a little so could someone please explain how to disable the voltage limit or at least increase it to 1.75 volts.

Hi all

First, thanks a lot for this great thread.

I have bought a MSI 7900 GTO (same PCB as 7900GTX and flash with MSI 7900GTX BIOS)
My graphic card is recognized as a 7900GTX, and i've modded vgpu with NiBiTor, but after flash, gpu voltage still the same (1.331v 2D/1.444v 3D)

So I want to try a pencil mod.
My first pencil mod was on a X800Pro and it as reached 630Mhz with, 550 without. So I'm still enthusiasted by pencil mod.
I've search on forum etc. no 7900GTX pencil mod topics/threads/article available.

Do you know how to do on a 7900 GTX PCB ?
The vmem on the 7900 GTO is 1.82v *

i have 1.7 vmod on chip and 2.22 on memory
XFX 7900gt 520M
in 3DMark06 HDR and PS 2.0 are ok! But in CPU test after some time i have Blackscreen(not Blankscreen)->reboot only.....
what is the problem???

Has measured on PCB = 2.12 volt.
Cooling Zalman does not help.
On 7900GT at a voltage reduction for memories blinkings of the screen stop.
On 7900GTX it is installed ISL6534 and I do not know as to lower a voltage.

u can't push the mems too far without good cooling on core
so u can just stay to stock volts and push the mem till its unstable

Any ground point will be ok. I'll give you a tip on how to find some:

Pick a nice looking spot, that would be easy to solder on to. Then measure the voltage at this spot with respect to ground (with the computer turned on). If it equals 0, that one is your winner!
